Well, let’s not go back in time, well not all the way back to the 1950’s but a few months. We went to the Ohio History Center in Columbus months ago and saw all the exhibits. One exhibit is still on our minds. The exhibit is called
1950s: Building the American Dream.
This exhibit tells the story of the 1950s and how it that decade influenced America. The cars, inventions, music, pop culture and events of the 1950’s are showcased. This exhibit is more than just hipster nostalgia, but a real exploration of the decade. This exhibit is included in the price of museum admission. The exhibit will be on display until 2018. One should not wait that long to see the exhibit.
One of the coolest part of the is exhibit is the house that was recreated. Not just any house but a 1950’s house. The house is so well done you really feel like you are in the 1950’s. One awesome thing about the house is it has interactive elements. You can turn on radio and open drawers. This is a really interactive part of the exhibit.
If you were alive in the 1950’s go to this exhibit to feel nostalgic. Bring your grandkids, nieces, nephews, neighbors kids and really give them the experience of your youth. If you were born at a later decade go to this exhibit to really learn about the period. This is one exhibit in Ohio not to miss.
